Top chefs take the stage at Passione Vino’s ‘Il Circo’ series

The Staff Canteen

Luca Dusi, founder of the much-loved Passione Vino in Shoreditch, is launching a vibrant new series of events: Il Circo di Passione Vino.

Translating to 'The Circus', the series is all about celebrating the spectacle, joy, and passion of Italian wine - with a few of Luca’s most talented friends joining the party.

The programme will feature chef takeovers, wine tastings, and masterclasses, all held in Passione Vino’s intimate upstairs ‘Secret Room.'

Here's what's coming up:

May 29 - Francesco Mazzei

Italian chef Francesco Mazzei kicks off the series with a one-off dinner celebrating his Calabrian roots. Guests can expect bold, authentic flavours from one of the UK’s most celebrated Italian chefs, known for his work at The Dorchester, La Terrazza dell’Eden, and more.

June 11 - James Ferguson

Next up, James Ferguson of The Kinneuchar Inn brings his passion for seasonal Scottish produce to Shoreditch. His menu will be inspired by Luca’s Italian wine selection, blending regional

integrity with elegant simplicity.

July 30 - Daniele Pampagnin

Daniele Pampagnin, former head chef at Soho House, Cecconi’s, and founder of Tozi, brings a Sicilian seafood celebration to the table. Expect dishes inspired by the ocean and paired with Luca’s favourite sparkling wines.

September 18 - Margot Henderson OBE

Finishing the series is the iconic Margot Henderson, co-founder of Rochelle Canteen and The Three Horseshoes. Her signature no-nonsense cooking and love for British produce will be matched with Luca’s inventive wine pairings for a cosy, comforting evening.

Wine Masterclasses with Crystal Whitcroft

Alongside the dinners, wine expert and D&P Selezioni founder Crystal Whitcroft will host a series of masterclasses, showcasing her favourite Italian bottles. With over two decades in the wine industry, Crystal will guide guests through a journey of big formats, bold choices, and lesser-known gems from Italy’s vineyards.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
