TSC Award 2024 Front of House team of the year is Laura Siddle and Faru
Laura Siddle, alongside her husband Jake, is the co-owner of Faru, a fine dining restaurant situated in the heart of Durham, UK. The couple, both alumni of Newcastle's Michelin-starred House of Tides, ventured into their own establishment to bring a unique culinary experience to the city.
Faru, derived from the Old English word for "journey," reflects the Siddles' personal and professional paths. Opened in April 2023,
the restaurant offers a seasonal tasting menu that showcases local and British produce, emphasising flavour and quality.
The restaurant features an open-plan kitchen, allowing diners to observe the meticulous preparation of their meals. The interior is minimalist, with soft, muted tones and a mural from Spain adorning one of the walls, creating an inviting atmosphere.
Faru was included in the Michelin Guide within eight months of opening, highlighting its exceptional quality and service.
