- 8 x slices of white bloomer or white loaf (1 cm in thickness)
- 100g softened unsalted butter
- 4 slices of thinly sliced cooked ham
- 4 slices of mature Cheddar cheese (Montgomery’s or Quickes or Keens)
- Directions:
- Pre-heat the oven to 190/200 degrees centigrade on full fan.

Method
Whilst the oven heats up, butter both sides of all 8 slices of bread.
Assemble the slices of ham and cheese between the two slices of bread and place onto a sheet of greaseproof paper. This will stop the bread potentially sticking to the tray.
Place into the hot oven for 6 minutes or until golden brown.
Carefully remove from the oven, slice into two and serve whilst hot with a little salad and piccalilli.
