Will & Matt Devlin are the owners of Michelin Green Starred, The Small Holding

Founded in 2018 by siblings Will and Matt Devlin, The Small Holding places a paramount emphasis on sustainability, with cultivation and foraging standing as the very core of their culinary endeavors.

Since its inception, the establishment has swiftly earned acclaim for its exquisite cuisine, artisanal beverages, and an exceptional farm-to-table journey that remains unmatched, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all their cherished guests.

Their efforts has led them to receiving the Michelin Green Star. Will Devlin commented, “Growing our own produce is the most important part of what we do - managing our soil and starting to develop flavour in our food from the ground up. Our no-dig method is the most natural and sustainable way of producing food."

Will & Matt share a sustainable vision, ethos, and approach to hospitality, with Will overseeing the kitchen, and Matt looking after front of house. With like-minded ideas, their shared mission goes from strength to strength, with the emphasis on family, locality, and seasonality always at the forefront.

Situated in Kilndown, The Small Holding comprises both a restaurant and a farm, offering a curated set menu that exults in the finest locally sourced ingredients, forging an unparalleled link between the locations fertile land and the dining table. These elements create a Rustic British meets Nordic tasting menu and dishes have bold, well-balanced flavours and lots of personality. The dynamic menu evolves in harmony with the ever-shifting seasons, featuring meticulously sourced ingredients that adhere to principles of sustainability. They embrace the rhythm of nature, engaging in year-round foraging and preservation. This commitment extends to crafting their own bread, butter, ferments, and preserves, further enhancing the authenticity of our culinary offerings.
