2015 North West Young Chef Champ Cooks His Way to the National

There seems to be non-stop success for 2015’s North West Young Chef of the Year Arthur Quin, aged 20 from the Punchbowl Inn, not only has he recently won the ‘Young Chef’ award from the Craft Guild of Chef’s to go alongside his prestigious title – he has now won himself a place in the final of the National Young Chef of the Year Competition!

The competition will take place on Tuesday 4th October at the Restaurant Show and will see all 10 competitors battle it out to become the National Young Chef of the Year. For the first stage of the contest, participants are required to produce an imaginative lunch menu for two guests that could be cooked-up within two hours. The menu must consist of a risotto starter of the competitor’s choice; a main course using a whole chicken, with appropriate accompaniments and a choux pastry dessert of choice.

Arthur stormed the semi-final held at Sheffield College on Tuesday 14th June and Essential Cuisine would like to personally wish him the best of luck for the final in October.

We are also keeping our fingers crossed for 2014’s North West Young Chef of the Year – Danny Young and our most recent winner 2016’s North West Young Chef of the Year – Daniela Tucci who are still both in with a chance to join Arthur at the final.

Good luck guys!
