⁣Part of the fundraising dinner to ‘put something back’ and help raise funds to assist current Kendal College catering students in broadening their culinary knowledge overseas and developing themselves as chefs through exposure to other food cultures.

⁣Who inspired you to get into the kitchen?
Watching Saturday kitchen on the tv

How would you describe your food style?
Basically, my food is made up of a selection of classical flavour combinations

Who are your food heroes and why?
Brett Graham at the Ledbury, had an amazing meal there and he was a great person, and approachable, easy to talk to and he didn’t mind me asking questions. As a result, he really inspired me.

What three ingredients can’t you live without?
I really couldn’t be without butter, salt and chocolate. You have the beginnings of great dishes with these simple ingredients.

What one piece of advice would you give someone coming into the industry?
Enjoy being in this industry, if you don’t then it’s time to get out and do something else. It’s all consuming but massively worth it.

What would I do differently?
Try harder in my first year at College, but then hindsight is a wonderful thing… so probably nothing

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
