Chris Underwood Joins Adam Handling Ltd as Group Pastry Chef

Adam Handling has appointed one of the industry’s most exciting and innovative pastry chefs, Chris Underwood, as Group Pastry Chef to oversee his operations at Frog by Adam Handling in Covent Garden, The Frog Hoxton opening in July, and the Belmond Cadogan hotel opening in Chelsea at the end of this year.

With a diverse career expanding over some of the UK’s most prestigious restaurants and hotels, Chris will be bringing a wealth of experience to develop and enhance the pastry and dessert offering across all locations.

Chris Underwood says: “It’s such an exciting time to be working with Adam and I’m looking forward to moving the pastry section forward and setting trends whilst still keeping the individual personality of all the operations.”

Says Adam Handling: “It’s amazing to have Chris join the team as Group Pastry Chef. He’s had such a rich career already and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can build together across the venues. Each location has its own identity and I’ve no doubt Chris’s knowledge and skills will benefit each of them.”

Chris has been mentored by and worked for some of the industry’s finest Michelin starred chefs including Shane Osbourne at Pied à Terre, Michael Caines at Gidleigh Park, Alan Murchison at L’Ortolan, Claude Bosi at Hibiscus and Tom Aikens at Restaurant Tom Aikens. In 2007, Chris was an integral part of the team that won a Michelin star at La Becasse in Ludlow, after just nine months.
