Commercial Kitchens - Educational Facilities

KCCJ has extensive experience of designing and installing kitchens in the education sector but it’s not that often that we have the luxury of carrying out a project at a brand new build.

A growing awareness of healthy eating and childhood obesity has increased pressure on the education catering sector to deliver better, healthier food. But the traditional requirements to deliver large volumes of meals in a short space of time and often on very tight budgets still remain.

We can ease some of the pressure by working closely with both catering teams and educational institutions to design kitchen and catering facilities which maximise productivity. Our relationships with commercial kitchen equipment manufacturers allow us to negotiate the best prices for new refrigeration, ovens and dishwashers.

For school, college and private academy kitchens we can help any organisation to provide an exceptional quality of catering. Our experience in the commercial sector is also valuable in providing a variety of kitchen and catering outlets for universities, which face greater competition from external vendors.

All of our kitchen design consultancy, procurement and builds for educational facilities meet the latest health and safety legislation. And our timescales can be tailored to suit the nature of the academic year to avoid disruption to students and teaching staff.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
