Dirk Gieselmann, formerly of the three Michelin-starred Auberge d’Ill in Illhauesern appointed Executive Chef of Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is pleased to announce the appointment of Dirk Gieselmann as Executive Chef, effective immediately. Gieselmann joins with over 20 years of experience working in some of the finest restaurants in the world including the three Michelin-starred Auberge d’Ill in Illhauesern and La Reserve de Beaulieu on France’s Côte d’Azur. Most recently, he was Executive Chef at Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff in Johannesburg.

A seasoned Chef, Gieselmann learnt the ropes under Uwe Quitter and Maurice de Boer in the former one Michelin-starred restaurant Gala in his native Aachen. Since then, his career has taken him to kitchens all over the world, from Le Negresco in Nice and InterContinental’s Tahiti Resort in Papeete to Le Cirque in New York. At Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, Gieselmann will be in charge of the entire culinary operation, leading a team of 35 while also overseeing the new restaurant and bar project, set to be unveiled in September 2017.

‘Dirk joins us at an exciting time here in the Hampshire countryside, says Lynn Brutman, General Manager, ‘An extensive enhancement programme is currently underway at the Hotel, culminating in the launch of our brand new Food & Beverage product in the autumn of this year. Dirk’s experience as part of the pre-opening team at our property in Johannesburg has put him in good stead for overseeing this project, from recruitment of new team members, developing relationships with local artisans to putting in place a series of menus and signature dishes. We are pleased to have him on board.’

In addition to the launch of the new Restaurant and Bar, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire will throughout 2017 also be unveiling changes to its Georgian Manor House with a refurbishment of The Library, the addition of a striking new Drawing Room and a brand-new Check-In and Concierge Experience. In the Hotel’s West Wing, the enhancement of the Royal Suite will also be completed this summer.
