Entries are now open for the first ever Best Dressed Irish Oyster competition

⁣Entries are now open for the first ever Best Dressed Irish Oyster competition, supported by Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board Showcase your creativity with a plate of the finest Irish oysters and you could win a luxury foodie break for two to Ireland.

TWO CATEGORIES – HOT AND COLD
Each category winner will receive an outstanding set of three carbon steel knives from Flint & Flame

The competition is in two parts:

• Written entry – outline your recipe for two plates
of 9 dressed Irish oysters, along with a photo*
of the finished dish
• From this, the judges will select 6 finalists, who will compete in a live cook-off at Hix Oyster & Chop House
on February 1st 2017

A luxury foodie break for two people to Ireland. Each category winner will receive a set of three Flint & Flame carbon steel knives.

Closing date for written entries is Friday January 13th 2017.

Finalists will be notified by telephone and email.

Finalists will be allowed to prepare mise en place before the final itself, including stock bases.

Chefs will need to bring all ingredients and small equipment with them – oysters and ice will be supplied.

For the live cook-off, finalists will have 20 minutes to prepare and serve two plates of nine oysters each.

Organisers reserve the right to use any recipes and materials for promotional purposes.

The judges’ decision is final.
