GATHER E17 BECOME NEW RESIDENTS AT DENIM AND DINE, WALTHAMSTOW

HUSBAND AND WIFE TEAM, GATHER E17 ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW RESIDENCY AT
BLACKHORSE LANE ATELIERS DENIM AND DINE POP UP

Gather E17 has recently been founded by husband and wife team, Martin and Charlotte. Our shared vision is to bring seasonal, ethically sourced and beautifully cooked food to our home in Walthamstow. Our style of food is Modern British. We use french cooking techniques and British produce.

Together we want to bring fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere to Waltham Forest, championing local artisanal makers and growers. We want to showcase all the fantastic produce available locally from OrganicLea’s stunning salad and berries to Wildcard Brewery ale, created just a few 100 yards from our front door.

We are passionate about building an environmentally sustainable organisation. We have an allotment and will be using coffee grounds from Perky Blenders and food waste from our events for compost to fertilise the soil. We will be using our home grown fruit and vegetables at our events. We are looking at ways to minimise our packaging. We are also exploring what chemicals we use in cleaning to have the least impact on the environment. And finally, we are dedicated to where we live and the people we live amongst. We want this to be mirrored in our company, to be community minded. This will include developing training opportunities for young chefs in the borough. We are also going to be running ‘Souper Wednesday’ at The Mill community centre on Coppermill Lane. We will be donating some of the profits each week to the centre and providing delicious soup and bread for £3 a bowl and homemade cakes.

WHO ARE WE:
Martin is a chef of 18 years. He has worked in Michelin restaurants for over 10 years and been mentored by chefs such as Phil Howard of The Square and now Elyston Street, Andy McFadden of Pied au Terre and chef Olivier Limousin of Joel Robouchon, London. Martin was formerly Head Chef of Daniel Clifford’s ‘The Flitch of Bacon’ in Little Dunmow, Essex.
Charlotte is a local community worker in Walthamstow, working at much loved community space, The Mill on Coppermill Lane. She has recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Museum Studies with Distinction. She also works on different community projects in Walthamstow including producing The Forest Community Marquee at the Walthamstow Garden Party, the Ideas Kitchen project and has recently become a Creative Citizen Fellow at the Barbican Centre.

WHAT IS DENIM AND DINE?

Made with slow fashion techniques, our jeans are made better to last longer. Our atelier is open to our community, with the aim of building connectivity between makers and buyers. We've collaborated with prestigious brands such as Drake's and Christopher Raeburn to name a few. Join our craft jean revolution at blackhorselane.com , on social media at @blackhorselane, or visit us at our London factory & shop.
