Judges and Prizes Announced for The First Ever UK Chocolate Dessert of the Year Competition

The Chocolate Dessert of the Year competition debuts in October at The Chocolate Show, highlighting the UK’s pastry scene as well as inviting the most talented chocolatiers and pastry chefs to demonstrate their skills.

The competition is pleased to announce a prestigious line up of high profile judges including Xanthe Clay, journalist at The Telegraph, Delicious Food Editor Rebecca Woollard, master chocolatier Paul A Young, UK Pastry Team President Martin Chiffers, Chantal Coady, founder of Rococo Chocolates, Cherish Finden, judge on Great British Bake Off Crème de la Crème and Mark Tilling, winner of Crème de la Crème.

The lucky winner will receive a prize of £500 plus an all expenses paid for trip to the Valrhona Factory, set in the beautiful Rhone Valley in France as well as the dessert being awarded the impressive accolade of ‘Best Chocolate Dessert of the Year.’

The competition presents an incredible chance for restaurants and hotels to get their best chocolate desserts into the hands (and mouths!) of the industry’s top food writers, chocolate experts, and chocolate lovers alike. The judging will be taking place live at The Chocolate Show, which attracts 20,000 visitors across the weekend, where each dessert will be tasted and critiqued by our panel of highly acclaimed judges.

Salon du Chocolat, organisers of the Chocolate show, have run a total of 194 events in 32 cities over the last 21 years that have welcomed over 8.2 million visitors. Their soaring popularity and expertise in the field ensures visitors see new exciting and innovative features added each year. 2016 marks the fourth edition of The Chocolate Show in London, the UK's biggest and much loved celebration of chocolate, held at Olympia (14th-16th October).
