My new book - Spilt Milk: A chef story

A tale of a boy growing into a man. Learning lessons the hard way, while trying to carve a life out for himself in the chefing industry. A tainted childhood leads him onto this path and with many stories along the way. Much laughter and tears along the way to finally get where he is now into a place of happiness.

INTRODUCTION

They say you cxan't cry over spilt milk. This is my life story about the hard chef industry and my personal life. About how, when you are down you can always go back up, and how hwne you're up you can always fall right back to the bottom again.

I suppopse my life has directed me into the life of a chef, and I've learnt that karma will always come knocking . When he does, he knocks with a sledgehammer.

After a lot of drama, and what seems to be a constant negativity, finally a bright light came. Someone can come into your life and like a tornado, turn your life all the way around and change the very way you view everything.

There are parts to my story where I am so low, and suicide seems the only otion. There are times that only seem to focus on the negative things, but this is it. I will blow the lid right off being a chef and give you the hard truth. Pulled right back and exposed to the bone.

I was never an angel.....but then again who is?

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
