National Pheasant Week 2016

⁣Monday 14th- Sunday 20th November will see folk celebrate the annual celebration of the great British game bird –
Pheasant.

It aims to bring together chefs, home cooks and game foodies to discuss all things pheasant as an attempt to spread the bird’s popularity.

We hope this week will encourage chefs to pluck up the courage to pop a pheasant in the pot and browse our ingredients to inspire to find the perfect accompaniment for pheasant dishes - our rich flavoured intense Game Glace being one of them.

Often overlooked by many people due to the old myth of its expense and difficult to prepare nature, the pheasant is a delicious, lean game bird and ideal for many winter warmer dishes.

Beautiful when roasted with bacon and served with buttered root vegetable mash, the meat of pheasants makes the perfect winter treat and also pairs with seasonal British quarry such as chestnuts, apples and celeriac.
