Anyone who works as a waiter/waitress knows that at times it can be a challenging old job; long hours, late finishes, (at times) tricky customers and all of this completed with a big smiling grin. So we think it is fantastic a day is hosted to celebrate those who take on such a role.
Today will be a day to celebrate all Front of House staff and inspire people about careers in the Hospitality industry.
The day aims to change the perception of Front of House and Service as an unskilled job to a job that offers good skills, lead to a rewarding career with good progression routes and amazing rewards.
Here at Essential Cuisine we are proud to join the celebration of the excellence, dedication, hard work and discipline of all 2.5 million working in the Hospitality industry in the UK.
National Waiters Day also hosts a NWD Races as part of the Springboard’s Front of House Festival 2016, which commenced at the beginning of the week. Waiters Day races will be run all over the country, with the flagship race happening in London’s Hyde Park.
Each day this week, Springboard is spotlighting a different sector of Front of House, including Baristas, Guest Services, and Drinks and Beverage. There will be plenty of activities, educational resources, and careers events linked to the different roles – aimed at inspiring young people to join this great industry and all it has to offer.
Sounds like a fun week right?
From our chef team to all waiters across the country, we truly admire what you do, keep up the great work!
