Royal Lancaster London Scoops Two Awards at the London Venue Awards 2019

Royal Lancaster London has been awarded the Silver Award for ‘Best Event Venue over 1000 Attendee’s’ and a Bronze Award for the ‘Best Awards Venue’ at the London Venue Awards 2019 held on Friday 4 October 2019 at the Hurlingham Club in London.

The London Venue Awards reward and recognise the capital’s buoyant venue landscape and have gone from strength to strength over the four years they have been held. This year saw more entries than ever before and a ceremony packed with over 420 event and venue professionals. Founded in 2014, the awards are the acknowledged accolade to recognise and reward first-class attainment in service and facilities in the London Venue scene. With an illustrious panel of over 25 superbly qualified judges who hail from the supply and buyer-side, winning a London Venue Award is a true mark of distinction.

When commenting on the success of Royal Lancaster London, the judging panel said: “Royal Lancaster London has much to boast, including a royal roster of previous event attendees and an
upmarket Hyde Park location. We were particularly impressed by the Senses Room, sustainability-focused restaurant, and the hotels ability to retain staff while also evolving with the times to incorporate fantastic sales initiatives and venue developments.”

The judging panel also commented on the £85 million total refurbishment, the flexible space, menus, the Smart AV, and that the hotel was Sunday Times Top 100 Company to work for.

In 2018, Royal Lancaster London unveiled its brand new design following an £85 million renovation. The prestigious hotel overlooking Hyde Park has been completely transformed both internally and externally in this universal restructure.
As one of the largest meeting venues in Europe, the hotel is renowned for its grand banqueting spaces which encompass the magnificent Nine Kings Suite and the Westbourne Suite. With a total of 16 meeting spaces and state-of-the-art banqueting kitchens, Royal Lancaster London’s conference rooms can cater for events of all sizes, from boardroom meetings and conferences, to exhibitions and gala dinners. The distinguished Nine Kings and Westbourne Suites can hold 2,000 guests collectively for a seated dinner.

The hotel attracts a diverse range of clients, from charitable organisations to corporate firms. Averaging 480 events annually, events encompass meetings, awards, dinners, AGMs, literary lunches and industry events. As a pioneering venue, the hotel works with its clients to ensure the venue’s facilities best suit their needs and insists that the hotel has no requirement for a bedroom block on booking any of the flexible event space. The ‘Senses Room’ is an innovative concept which allows clients to enjoy a complete preview of their event, as the session replicates every detail of a guest’s specification, from the colour scheme and decor, to the lighting and music.

The hotel can also host over 800 guests in-house, as the 411 guestrooms and suites all feature zip-and-link king and super king beds. The redesign of the towering 18-storey hotel encompasses the complete refurbishment of all rooms and suites. Every guestroom has a far reaching view across London, and the modern design emphasises these premium vistas.
