As I bow out to pastures new, I wanted to mark my departure with a little blog on my time at Essential Cuisine as a tribute to the lovely team and great company that I am leaving behind.
I have been here for eight and a half years and have seen a huge amount of changes. When I started there were just about 12 of us working in the Winsford offices and everyone did a bit of everything. My role as Sales Executive was quite a challenge back then, with maybe only 20% of customers even having heard of us. Now there are 70 of us working for the company, we have our very own purpose built manufacturing facility and it really is a rarity to find a chef who hasn’t used our products before. The way we have increased our distribution and built our brand is phenomenal and is testimony to what a great team we are. It really has been a team effort and the spirit in which we work is ‘essential’ to the success we have now achieved and the reputation we now have out in the trade.
I worked for some years building our business customer by customer and ensuring the smooth fulfilment of orders to ensure those customers would repeat order. For the last 3 years I have been working more exclusively on the South West region with my ‘dream team’ Guy Norton and Gary Kilminster. Building a rapport with our customers in this area and ensuring always that the quality of the product is the reason people buy it means that we have now gathered around us quite a list of loyal chefs. The interaction on social media these days makes it so much easier for us to keep in touch with our customers in a fun and informal way.
I will really miss this company who have maintained the ‘family’ feel despite its rapid growth and wish them continued success for years to come. Thanks for letting me be part of the journey! And by the way, we do make the best gravy, stocks and jus out there!
