Taittinger Champagne Dinner at Sopwell House

Champagne flutes at the ready! On Thursday 23 November 2017, The Restaurant at Sopwell House will host a glamorous four-course tasting dinner with Taittinger Champagne, priced at £85 per person.

Head Chef of The Restaurant, Matthew Bird, has devised a innovative menu with Taittinger to showcase the importance of drinks pairings with different dishes.

The evening will commence with a canapé reception, followed by an imaginative four-course tasting menu, before concluding with coffee and petit fours. Exhibiting French flair, the menu includes Ballotine of Duck Foie Gras, apple and blackberry chutney and toasted brioche; Poached and grilled guinea fowl, mousseline potato, and charred leeks; and Salted honey cake, bergamot cremeaux, and a crisp apple sorbet.

Each course will be expertly matched with a different Taittinger Champagne, ranging from the Brut Reserve with the first course; to the Prestige Rosé with the dessert.

Taittinger remains one of the largest independent Champagne houses that still features the name of its owners. Boasting 288 hectares of vineyards and using the most environmentally-friendly techniques, Taittinger prides itself on the finesse and elegance of all it creates.

Wine specialist, John Ferguson-Smith, will be the guest speaker at the event; using his 20 years of experience in the industry to showcase his favourite recommendations and passion for wine.

The special evening at Sopwell House is priced at £85 per person for the four-course tasting menu with Champagne pairings.

The Taittinger Champagne Dinner marks the launch of the hotel’s wine tasting dinners that will take place in 2018. Forthcoming dinners to be announced in December.
