Adam Handling Restaurant Group’s flagship restaurant Frog by Adam Handling to open 1st September

On 1st September, chef and restaurateur Adam Handling will be opening the doors to his third restaurant site in the group, Frog by Adam Handling. The new restaurant will be nestled into London’s Covent Garden on Southampton Street. With bookings now being taken for Adam’s new venture, the restaurant promises to be one of the most exciting new restaurants of the year.

The restaurant will act as the flagship restaurant for the group, offering a more formal approach than that at The Frog E1. Frog by Adam Handling will showcase Adam’s distinctive cooking style – combining technical savvy with the best possible produce – with a sizeable open-plan kitchen, and a large private dining room in the basement complete with its own kitchen.
Frog by Adam Handling will have 50 covers, with an additional 20 covers in the private dining room, and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all year round, with a full team of 60 staff.
Says Adam Handling: “I’m hugely excited about opening the new restaurant this year. The Frog E1 has been so well-received and set the standard for us as a group, and the new restaurant will be rooted in those foundations but also have its own, distinct and more formal style with its own dishes and frequently changing menu. The new site will draw a different clientele to the first restaurant in Shoreditch, and I want it to be unlike anything else currently available in Covent Garden. The site has taken a year to renovate and it was 3 months behind schedule but I wasn’t going to open it until it was 100% perfect. This flagship restaurant is every chef’s dream.”

The flagship restaurant will be the second restaurant for group, who have announced that any subsequent restaurants launched will, like The Frog E1, be named after the postcode in which they are situated.
Adam is only 28 years old and has competed and won an array of culinary awards throughout his career, including Scottish Chef of the Year, Newcomer Restaurant of the Year, the British Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year in 2014, Scottish Young Chef of the Year, was tipped as one of the “30 under 30 to watch” in the 2013 Acorn Awards, and was shortlisted for “Best Newcomer” at the Catey Awards 2017. Adam has also appeared on multiple television programmes, including MasterChef: The Professionals, Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen.
Adam and the team are looking to build on the success of the first The Frog E1 restaurant, which was listed in Bloomberg’s roundup of London’s 11 best restaurants of 2016, Hot Dinners’ best new London restaurants to open in 2016, The Caterer’s top 10 restaurant openings of 2016, The Handbook’s pick of the best new venues to open in 2016, and Square Meal’s list of 2016’s best new London restaurants.
