BCF Chef of the Year finalists announced

The British Culinary Federation (BCF) has unveiled the list of chefs who will be taking part in the Chef of the Year competition finals.

What's more, the organisation has made amendments to the timeline and schedule for the competition.

The Butchery Masterclass to be undertaken by the finalists will now take place online on September 13th.

The final, which will take place at University College Birmingham (UCB) on Monday October 18th, will have a staggered start: the first heat will start cooking at 1.00pm and the second heat at 2.00pm in two separate kitchens.

The awards ceremony and a celebratory dinner will take place that evening. 

The finalists and their heats are as follows: 

First Heat

- Robert Marshall, The Square Peg, Tunbridge Wells 

Second Heat 
- Conor Bird,  House of Commons 
-Cleverson Cordeiro, The Frog by Adam Handling 
- Steven Snowdon, Tom Kerridge Restaurants 
- Mehdi Lahmadi, Coworth Park, Dorchester Collection 
- Leo Kattou, Simpsons Restaurant, Birmingham

Judges for the final include: Brian Turner CBE; Rachel Humphrey, Ashley Palmer-Watts; Sat Bains; Adam Smith, Ian Musgrave, (current BCF Chef of the Year) 

The winner will receive a £2500 prize, plus an inspired chefs visit to Ireland.

The competition is hosted by BCF in partnership with Aubrey Allen and Bord Bia, with support from Goodfellows, The Staff Canteen, Villeroy & Boch.
