Best in Class at Wessex Salon Culinaire 2015

Wessex Salon Culinaire has taken place at Brockenhurst College on 28th May, and our Development Chef Jonathan Harvey-Barnes was on hand to judge the Essential Cuisine sponsored lamb main course class.

Best in Class was announced as Jordon Powell, an apprentice chef at South Lodge Hotel in Horsham, West Sussex; a 1 michelin star and 4 rosette restaurant run under the watchful eye of Head Chef Matt Gillan.

Trained at Westminster Kingsway College, Jordon cooked his way to the title with a winning dish of oven roasted loin of lamb, confit potato and lamb dripping, buttered carrots with parmesan and onion crumb.
