Enter now for your chance to win the Major Series 2015

Major International and Craft Guild of Chefs have again combined to organise the annual Major Series of display classes.

The nationwide competition is open to junior and senior chefs of varying skill level and is set to take place at numerous venues around the country.

David Bryant, Managing Director of Major International, said: “The aim of the Major Series is not only to promote culinary excellence but also to nurture talent. Today this is seen as one of the UK’s premier competitions and it’s a great way to encourage creativity and showcase your skills.”

Heats will take place on 6th February 2015 at South Devon College (Paignton), 24 April 2015 at New College Durham and the final heat will be held at Westminster College (date to be confirmed).

The event is now in its 13th year and continues to rise in popularity. Competitions range from a number of displays, static and restaurant skills classes. Included in the live display class is the Major Challenge, where competitors are given 50 minutes to produce and present two plated portions of one chicken dish involving a modern style of presentation incorporating a Major Stock Base or Major Mari Base marinades.

The top two from each hot chicken heat will compete in the Grand Final for an opportunity to win £500 in vouchers, plus one year’s free membership to the Craft Guild of Chefs and £250 vouchers to the winner’s college and also a personalised chef jacket.

Wayne Harris from Craft Guild of Chefs Academy, said: “The Major Series is a great way to introduce chefs of all ages into the competition arena. Some of today’s national stars began their competition with this competition.”
