Alfresco dining can mean big business during the summer months, and with a predicted boom in BBQ and premium casual/fast food this year, it’s essential that caterers with outside space capitalise on this demand.

Last month’s Business Leaders Survey from CGA Peach found that half of casual dining and pub executives questioned predicted BBQ’s would make a big impact in 2014, while 58% expected premium casual dining and fast food to thrive in the current year.
In addition, the Coffer Peach Business Tracker underlined pubs’ competitive advantage during the fine weather last August, when pubs achieved like-for-like sales growth of 2.5% compared with just 0.3% at casual dining restaurants. Significantly, pub food sales were four times higher than drink sales during that month.
