The Perfect Foodie Day out for all the Family!

On the first Bank Holiday in May the stunning Elizabethan country house of Hardwick Hall, near Chesterfield in Derbyshire hosts the Great British Food Festival. Along with wonderful food and drink there'll be chef demos, man v food and cake competitions, artisan talks, games and activities for the kids, and excellent live music.

The Great British Food Festival has attracted lots of top producers showcasing the best in local, seasonal and speciality food and drink. Taste, enjoy and buy. On the field you’ll find lots of tasty hot food to feast on from local hog roasts to spicy Thai dishes - with Great Britain’s amazing mix of cultures and cuisines there is something for all tastes!

On top of the local and independent food stalls, selling everything from hand baked biscuits to fine wines, there are lots of activities the public can get involved with. Why not enter the Great British Cake Off, or take on the Men V’s Food challenges, not your thing? Then how about sausage making, or a gin tasting talk? Or why not pop into the chef demo tent to watch a top chef cooking on stage and pick up some tips. Throughout the day there will be live music from top local bands, so you can do some shopping, grab some food and then have a well earned relax with a local beer (or two) listening to some great live entertainment.
Bring a blanket and sit out for the day enjoying great food and drink, live music and beautiful surroundings. The perfect recipe for a fun, foodie day out for the whole family.
