Major International developed a new ‘Simply Taste’ concept for Manchester University, which was implemented into a busy canteen last week.  Developed with the brief of making it ‘quick and easy‘ for dinner ladies to serve whilst providing exceptional flavours, Major certainly delivered bringing consistency, convenience, affordability and above all mouthwatering recipes to the lunchtime menu. 
The Simply Taste concept can be applied to various School or University canteen areas including salads, soups, burgers, jackets potatoes, pasta and pizzas stations taking students on a journey across the globe.
 It was incredibly well received by both students and lecturers at Manchester University.  The constant queue throughout the lunchtime service at the hot wok counter meant that the numbers spoke for themselves.  With a full roll out planned for the new academic term in September 2013, Major plans to offer customers an array of delicious menu options in a range of school dinner areas using the Major Mari-Base marinades.
 Each of the menu choices available at the Hot Wok station use the 5 ingredients in 5 minutes concept, making it quick, easy and hassle free for both the chefs and students.  The students couldn’t get enough of the Simply Taste area in the existing canteen. “The flavour of my lunch was amazing. The pork belly is so tender and the taste of the noodles is better than anything I’ve tried before on campus“ commented one International Business student after trying the Caribbean Jerk stir fry using Major Marinades.
The staff involved in the development of the idea were extremely impressed by what little input they had to provide.  “We’ve had the hot wok concept in motion for the last 3 years with existing providers   and to be honest it’s been inconsistent as far as the volume of day to day business and the products themselves.  I only spoke to Major back in January about this and here we are in April and it’s completed!  I’ve had very little input, all I’ve had to say is yes, no, yes, no and its been done.  You can see for yourself the feedback from the first day, it’s so busy which is really great for us!  All I’ve had to do is buy the products and for me that’s perfect, Major have provided all the training and promotional materials for us and it’s been fabulous…. Absolutely fabulous!” comments Martin Smith, Executive Head Chef of Manchester University.
With bespoke menu development available for all educational institutes, Major can plan and work with you to cater for your every need.
