MEET THE CHEF The first chef to take over the kitchen at Station Road for our Young Chef Series is Maggie Salter. Maggie works as Chef de Partie in the pastry department at The Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, with previous experience at The Fairmont. Her passion for pastry extends beyond her job. In her spare time, Maggie loves to go out to various bakeries, cafes, and restaurants to sample new food - especially desserts. Sean and the team are looking forward to welcoming Maggie to Station Road this week, where she’ll be creating a dish of her own and showcasing it on the tasting menu for one night only, on Thursday, 27th April 2023.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.

The Staff Canteen has always been more than a website—it’s a community, built by and for hospitality. We share the wins, the challenges, the graft, and the inspiration that keeps kitchens alive.

We believe in staying open to everyone, but creating this content takes real resources. If you’ve ever found value here—whether it’s a recipe, an interview, or a laugh when you needed it most—consider giving just £3 to keep it going.

A little from you keeps this space free for all. Let’s keep lifting the industry, together.
