New Judge Joins the Hunt for Britain’s Best Brigade

Chef teams have until midnight on April 20th 2015 to put their kitchen on the map, and stake their claim for the title of Britain’s Best Brigade, scooping £1000 cash and an exclusive development masterclass with one of the UKs top chefs.

It doesn’t matter which sector they work in, all entrants need to do is go to www.bestbrigades.com/enter and leave a few details about what sets them and their chef team apart from the pack. From there eight regional finalists will be chosen to go head to head in a public video vote.

With entries flooding in from eight UK regions – London, the South East, the South West, the Midlands, the North East, the North West & Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland – Essential Cuisine’s new competition has been bolstered by the addition of highly respected British Culinary Federation Vice Chairman Matt Davies to the judging panel. The Group Executive Head Chef of Staffordshire’s The Lewis Partnership, joins Chef Patron of Liverpool’s Hope Street Hotel, Paul Askew; Executive Chef at London’s Park Lane Sheraton, Andrew Bennett MBE and Dorchester-trained Essential Cuisine MD, Nigel Crane, in an exacting chef panel, with the final say on who goes through.

On his appointment, Matt commented: “I’m delighted to be judging Best Brigades and am greatly looking forward working with Paul, Andrew and Nigel to choose our finalists. There’s no room in the modern kitchen for egos, it’s about team players, individuals with discipline, skill, empathy communication, style and belief. These are the ingredients that make the best brigades, and that’s what I’ll be looking out for as a judge.”Nigel Crane, our Managing Director, added: “We know how proud and competitive chefs are, which is why we’re calling on them and their brigades to stand up and be counted. Regional Pride is at stake! Simply tell us why your team is the best and should be you could be chosen to represent your region. Don’t delay!”
