Our Gary is a Semi-finalist in Acclaimed Chef Competition

We are proud to announce that our very own Gary Kilminster, Business Development Executive, has got through the first judging stage of the British Culinary Federation Chef of the Year Competition 2016!
The theme of this year’s competition will be Best of British and will comprise of 16 semi-finalists cooking a three course menu at a live semi final in front of a panel of judges. They will then be whittled down to just 8 and the lucky finalists will be asked to return and cook another 3 course meal, this time using the sous vide method and Grant equipment. Greatly renowned chefs will be judging the competition, including; Alain Roux, Raymond Blanc and Ashley Palmer-Watts. The winner will receive the title of BCF Chef of the Year 2016, £2500 and the opportunity to join the national team in the Culinary World Cup in Erfurt, Germany.
Gary has always been passionate about food spending most his working life in kitchens and restaurants; however he joined Essential Towers with familiarity of food and education through his past job role as a Chef Lecturer at Bournemouth and Poole College. We’re hoping Gary’s fantastic knowledge of food will allow him to shine through the competition and take him all the way to the final. We will be here cheering him on every step of the way!
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all semi-finalists and wish them the best of luck throughout the competition.
