European patisserie specialist Pidy is delighted to announce they have been awarded a bronze medal from EcoVadis in recognition of their sustainability efforts at their Ypres production site in Belgium.
The global sustainability auditing company awards ratings based on analysis of more than 20 criteria across four key areas; environment, social and human rights, ethics, and responsible sourcing. With over 130,000 companies already working with EcoVadis across more than 220 sectors worldwide, the independent organisation can determine a reliable benchmark for sustainability practices. To obtain a bronze medal, business sites must score in the top third of companies in the same sector. Pidy’s Ypres facility ranked in the 68th percentile, placing it ahead of more than two-thirds of foodservice businesses.
Fabien Levet, Commercial Manager at Pidy UK explains the significance of the achievement:
“Our CSR strategy is a collective effort of every team member at Pidy, without whom we would not have been able to achieve this prestigious certification. This recognition from EcoVadis is an important step forward as we continue our efforts to contribute positively to the environment and society in line with our ‘Green’ ethos.”
Beyond Pidy’s continued sustainability efforts, the patisserie specialist has also overhauled several pastry recipes to remove additives and preservatives as part of their ‘Clean’ initiative to become an even more responsible supplier.
