Soami’s Trio owner opens second Asian restaurant in Consett An award-winning County Durham restaurant owner has opened a second Asian cuisine venue in the same town. Parvin Kumar, who runs Soami’s Trio in Consett, has now opened Bao Asia on Newmarket Street in the town. Mr Kumar, who has worked at several restaurants in the UK, including Spice Cube and Michelin Guide restaurant Haveli, opened the new venue on September 29. He said: “This is more than just a new restaurant—it’s a dream coming to life. “I am beyond excited to welcome guests into Bao Asia. “For me, this isn’t just about food—it’s about creating an experience.
