Traditional Dishes for a Traditional Day

This weekend shall see the celebration of our late Patron Saint of England, St George – so in order to celebrate St George’s Day properly we think it’s important to embrace a few traditionally English culinary masterpieces.

Countries that celebrate St George’s Day include Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, England, Georgia, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, and Serbia. So as you can imagine a multitude of exotic and unique dishes will be enjoyed on the big day.

However, as The Stock People are proudly British we will be celebrating traditional hearty English classics to run alongside this English celebration – In fact, from the early 15th century, St George’s Day was a major feast and national holiday in England on a par with Christmas!

Why not try putting a mouth-watering Sausage Casserole on the menu for St George’s Day – a traditional yet delicious meal. Use Essential Cuisine’s Beef Stock as the cornerstone for your casserole in order to enhance the flavour and bring out the meaty taste of the dish.

It doesn’t get more classic than a British Roast Dinner – use our No 1 Beef Gravy as the perfect accompaniment to your Roast Beef and for that extra great taste add your own beef dripping.

And last but certainly not least the good old British Pie. Use our Chicken Stock and brand new Gluten Free Béchamel Sauce to create a scrumptiously creamy Veloute Sauce as a filling for a Chicken Pie.

In these challenging times…
