Just a little more heat and we will see Fresh Girolles, English Courgette Flowers, Kentish Wild Strawberries and Poivrade Artichokes.Fresh Wild Mushrooms As if by magic St. George mushrooms appear just in time for the English saint’s day! This mealy, firm fleshed treat has a limited season and arrives with it’s cousin Mousseron from Europe.We suspect Girolles from Europe will start in one week’s time; we could be a few days earlier.We will enjoy a further week of South African Cep.Morel prices are nudging down from Turkey. We can buy cheaper, but we can’t buy better - Consistently excellent!Chanterelle, Trompette and Pied de Mouton continues from the US.In short a cross over period on the wild mushroom front, where the options are very strong.TrufflesSummer truffles from Umbria. shifting along nicely.FruitsWe are trialing some Yellow and White Peaches and Yellow Fleshed Nectarines.  If we like them, we’ll sell them. If not it’s Sicoly Purees for an excellent source of natural fruit flavour.Scottish spruce shoots in their succulent early form from Tuesday. 10g bags for heady infusions. Check the Noma cookbook for recipe ideas.VegetablesWild leeks have finished. We will enjoy one further week of their “bobbles” until the plant collapses entirely.French white asparagus is dropping nicely in price.Ground elder is available from Norfolk. A fantastic wild salad leaf at this stage with a mild parsley/citrus hit to the pallet. As it gets larger treat like adult spinach.Sweet cicley & hogweed any day now from Scotland.Some exciting SOSA updates will come through from resident expert (Geek) Paola as she returns from her training trip in Barcelona.
