Hello Chef,
I am sorry that we’ve missed a few updates, I hope you haven’t missed us too much!
So much to talk about as we approach the final week of September and I’ve been all over the country, so there is a lot to catch up on. Just a quick reminder that it is the last week to save money on our Gourmet Classic Italian Cooking Wine promotion; please speak to your account manager for further information
Wild Mushrooms & Truffles
In the middle of a dry month we still have excellent Scottish Chanterelle, Pied de Mouton and Girolle available, however, Trompette de la Mort are thin on the ground, both in Scotland and Europe, hopefully we should be back in stock by the end of the week. Dried Trompettes are available to keep you and your menu ticking over if need be. Polish baby Girolles are also available for chefs looking for a consistently sized, good quality and affordable Girolle on the mushroom. Cauliflower Fungus is sporadic, but beautiful.
The Cep season is still not yet in full swing; we are following flushes around Europe until it really kicks off inBulgaria in October, which will run us through to South African Cep that shall close the year. Again, to back you up we have a large range of frozen and dried Cep products available.
Fresh Autumn truffles arrive on Tuesday and we can smell White Alba truffles just around the corner. Our Autumn Black Italian Truffles are just fantastic, with a great nose and marbling
