Wild Mushrooms
Morels from Turkey –Price drop and excellent quality.
Chanterelle, Trompette & Pied de Mouton still rocking well from the US.
We sometimes get a second flush of South African Cep in April. We contacted our lady on the ground and the indicators are good. Rain in the north is producing a flush, although low temperatures are slowing the growth. We have told them to ship as soon as they have great quality and we are hopeful for this week.
Truffles
Summer Truffles are being offered at high prices with little nose or marbling. Depending on quality indicators we will jump into the game next week or the following.
Fruits
As if our Tomato offering wasn’t extensive enough, we celebrate the start of the Tomberry season this week. In red or yellow the clever Dutchmen at Eminent have patented the tiniest tomatoes in The World. A unique and fun addition to plates.
Vegetables
Far superior to air-freighted options, we have chosen this week to start offering French White Asparagus. Prices are now workable and the pale spears are in excellent condition. We just need Wild Asparagus to join the party, and our asparagus cup will runneth over.
English Asparagus prices have dropped.
Eggs
Now I’m sure that everyone in the industry and many of the general public are aware of pressures on egg supply due to new Europe wide welfare legislation. We will navigate these treacherous waters as best we can at Wild Harvest to ensure we maintain the best price and quality for you.
Pheasant Eggs from Wednesday, to be closely followed by goose (bigger, richer version of a duck egg which we also stock).
Catch these beauties whilst the limited seasons last. A fantastic source of nutrition, flavour and texture.
