Grand, in an exclusive interview with The Staff Canteen, Victor said: “Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Victor Garvey at The Midland Grand can’t continue.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure. I am privileged to be able to say that all staff are being relocated between SO|LA and other outlets.

“All suppliers have been paid. All reservations have been contacted. All private events and enquiries have been redirected to SO|LA or to the Marriott. The silver lining in the cloud is that this is the cleanest way to be able to close down a business.”

A year of endings and reassessment
