Three new restaurants have been awarded two Michelin stars in the 2015 Michelin Restaurant Guide Hong Kong and Macau and 11 new one star restaurants while ‘Spoon by Alain Ducasse’ is demoted to one star. International_Commerce_Centre_&_International_Finance_Centre_201007Duddell's, The Principal, Yan Toh Heen are the real winners in the 2015 guide, all gaining a second Michelin star. Despite the demotion of ‘Spoon by Alain Ducasse’, the seventh edition for this region further highlights the high culinary calibre in the area. There are seven three-star restaurants, five in Hong Kong and a further two in Macau. Bo Innovation, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Lung King Heen, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo, Sushi Shikon, Robuchon au Dôme and The Eight all retain their three-star status in the 2015 guide. In addition, the guide includes 16 two star restaurants, 14 of which are in Hong Kong with the other two in Macau, and 52 one star establishments, 45 in Hong Kong and 7 in Macau. “The selection in the 2015 guide also shows to what extent Hong Kong is increasingly attractive to young foreign chefs, more and more of whom are moving to the city or opening their own restaurant after training in other Hong Kong restaurants,” explains Michael Ellis, International Director of the Michelin guides, "The new edition confirms that Hong Kong is one of the world’s leading gourmet dining centers. The city’s creativity, curiosity and culture openness constantly enriches one of the most dynamic gourmet dining scenes anywhere. A city of exchanges, encounters, cross-cultural experiences and inspiration, Hong Kong has become an undisputed leader in the international culinary landscape.”   The guide also features 78 Bib Gourmand restaurants, 65 in Hong Kong and 13 in Macau. In total, the guide includes 129 establishments from Hong Kong and 24 from Macau.
