Andrew Sheridan to open Birmingham restaurant, 8
Great British Menu 2018 and 2019 chef Andrew Sheridan is set to open his own restaurant in Birmingham, 8.
Aiming for an October 8th launch - should no further local lockdowns get in the way - the site, located at 8 Centenary Square in the city centre, as per the chef's announcement on social media, will be his debut restaurant.
The chef joined Birmingham's Craft in November last year after leaving The Stargazy Inn in Cornwall.
When he was cast for the 2019 series of Great British Menu, Andrew ran Sosban in Llanelli; but by the time it aired he and his entire team - potwashers and all - had relocated
to Port Isaac.
8 will be tasting menu only, serving eight courses to represent the chef's career to date - with each thematically named: 'Oxidised' - beef with cepes and truffle; 'Square Root of 8' - pistachio and celeriac; 'Lucky 8' - pork cheese and pickle; and '08.10.2006' - carrot cake.
A single sitting will take place at eight pm, with the restaurant counting 16 seats in total.
Update: this article previously stated that Andrew was collaborating with Aktar Islam at Craft, however this is not the case. We apologise for any confusion relating to this.
