The Arch London launch street food Afternoon Tea

The Staff Canteen

The Arch London, Marylebone, has announced the launch of a street food Afternoon Tea which will combine British cuisine and foods from around the world.

The event has been set up by the five-star hotel to embrace the wonderfully diverse, multicultural flavours found in London’s thriving street food scene.

The boutique hotel’s General Manager Michael Voigt said: "So many London hotels offer the same standard Afternoon Tea with scones, sandwiches and cakes." He continued: "We wanted to create an Afternoon Tea that is exciting and different, yet still gives people a quintessential taste of the best of modern London." The contemporary Afternoon Tea will offer fresh warm cinnamon and sugar doughnuts filled with apple jam in the place of scones. Savoury delights will be offered to guests in the form of mini beef burgers with onion marmalade in brioche buns;

smoked chicken, chilli, avocado and mango tortillas, mini handmade scotch eggs with piccalilli; and chicken satay served with a peanut dipping sauce and sesame seeds.

Sweet treats will also be on offer, including homemade macaroons; exquisite mini coffee éclairs; and a lemon and mango rice pudding with toasted coconut. Strawberry and pistachio tarts, and mini raspberry victoria sponges will provide a nod to the traditional British afternoon tea. The menu is priced at £29, or £38 with champagne, and the afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the hotel’s stunning Martini Library, stylish restaurant or chic Salon de Champagne lounge. As well as Champagne, a host of cocktails are also on offer for guests to enjoy alongside their tea. These include Indian Clouds, a homemade jasmine tea infused cocktail; or Cuban Lager, a mojito without the rum.

Small Contribution. Big Impact.
