Claude Bosi announces shock closure of two-Michelin-starred restaurant
Claude Bosi has announced the shock sudden closure of his two-Michelin-starred Bibendum restaurant in London.
France-born Claude has run the restaurant in South Kensington since 2017, going straight in at two stars in the Michelin Guide six months later, an honour it has held ever since.
Claude, alongside wife Lucy Bosi, took to social media to announce the news.
The statement read: "It is with deep sadness that we announce Claude Bosi Restaurant ceased trading on the 25th August and the Oyster Bar will close after service on 31st August.
“Despite our very best efforts, we were unable to reach a resolution with our partners and landlords that would allow Michelin House to move into its next chapter.
“It is with regret that we confirm that bookings past these dates have been cancelled, and we are truly sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
“Our foremost priority now is our team. We are personally committed to ensuring that every member of staff is fully supported and guided into new opportunities within our group.
“We will continue to dedicate our focus to Brooklands by Claude Bosi, proudly holding two Michelin stars, as well as to Josephine, in Chelsea and Marylebone.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown to us over the years. It
has been an honour to be part of the Michelin House story, and a privilege to share that journey with you.

Reaction to closure of Claude Bosi Restaurant
Located on the first floor of Michelin House, the well-lit dining room boasted eye-catching stained-glass windows.
The front of house team included Lorenzo Bigicchi and head sommelier Elio Machiné.
Dishes on the menu centred around British produce such as Orkney scallops, Portland crab and Dorset snail.
A host of top chefs have offered their words of support following the news.
Clare Smyth, of three-Michelin-starred Core, wrote: “Sorry to hear this. I had some exceptional meals with you there! But this is just how things go sometimes in business and your success will keep growing.”
Mark Birchall, who this year was awarded three stars at Moor Hall, added: “Gutted to hear this. An iconic restaurant! Onwards and upwards.”
Meanwhile, René Redzepi, of Noma fame, said: “Damn. I had just planned a trip October to London to eat. So sorry to hear this old friend.”
Galton Blackiston, who has held a Michelin star for 25 years at Morston Hall, added: Really sorry to read this Claude. These are indeed extraordinary tough times and you are one of the industry greats.”
