Linthwaite House Hotel situated in the Lake District has appointed David Aspin as its new head chef.

David joins the hotel from the three AA rosette, Rocca Bar & Grill in St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, where he was executive chef. With a career spanning more than two decades, David has worked with the likes of Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay, and previously worked with Paul Heathcote’s Longridge Restaurant in Preston where he was head chef.

Linthwaite House’s General Manager, Andrew Nicholson said: “We are delighted to have David join us and look forward to him bringing a new dimension to our award-winning restaurant. David will be joined by his former sous chef Iain Thomas, with whom David has worked at the Rocca Bar for three years and prior to that the five-star Rocpool Reserve Hotel with Albert Roux”.

David added: “I am very excited to be part of both an international brand and the team that is helping to deliver Leeu Collection’s vision for Linthwaite. I am passionate about local produce, including foraged foods, and cannot wait to start using Cumbrian delicacies that portray the best of the region and the season. I have my heart set on establishing a world class food and wine destination at Linthwaite – creating dishes that will be perfectly complemented by wines from the Mullineux & Leeu portfolio”.
