Hotelympia International Salon Culinaire deadline extended

The Staff Canteen
Chefs interested in putting their skills to the test in the Hotelympia International Salon Culinaire now have more time to get their entry in. The deadline has been extended until 7 February for the world’s premier culinary competition. James Tanner, Salon Culinaire Chef Director, said: “This is a world-class culinary event that really gives creative chefs a chance to show what they can do in a very competitive environment. “It is a great opportunity for anybody who wants to make a name for themselves, to prove the quality of their cooking skills and to let the industry know just what they can deliver in the kitchen. That is why I would urge chefs who are thinking about participating to sign up now.” The event has been updated following feedback from a dedicated chef panel including Chris Galvin, Steve Munkley, Simon Hulstone, Nick Vadis and Cyrus Todiwala. Improvements have been made to include a new online entry system, a clearer judging process, the use of iPads for food photography and the introduction of a feedback corner for advice from the experts. There will now also be two award ceremonies throughout each day with one after lunchtime as well as the usual end of day slot with both staged in a brand new, dedicated area. James added: “This will raise the profile of the event among those attending Hotelympia and ensure that more visitors have the chance to look over the entries and see the competition awards being presented to the most skilled chefs.” A full copy of the competition schedule as well as information on how to enter can be find via the Hotelympia Salon Culinaire website. The event is due to take place at the ExCel in London from 28 April-1 May.
