Le Cordon Bleu has now officially opened in the city of Shanghai, China, marking the first Le Cordon Bleu School in China and the first joint venture between a private entity and a Chinese government school. Shanghai Business & Tourism School will see the delivery of various Le Cordon Bleu educational programs that have been built on 120 years of tradition and excellence.entrance hall 90 students from the Great China region have already attended the first orientation with an elated Mr Li Xiao Hua, Principal of Le Cordon Bleu Shanghai Culinary Arts Academy declaring: “This important new school, which has obtained Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resource and Social Security, Ministry of Civil Affair, Ministry of Finance approval and support, is a building designed and featuring state-of-the-art kitchens and classroom facilities offering students the latest and most innovative opportunities in culinary education”. He also recalled the 2012 signing ceremony where Monsieur Cointreau proudly spoke about the first Chinese student ever who attended Le Cordon Bleu. “The first Chinese student attended Le Cordon Bleu in 1995, sponsored by the Shanghai Tourism Bureau. Today, we open the doors to many more candidates, bringing our torchbearers of Western cuisine into this cradle of Eastern cuisine.” Le Cordon Bleu Shanghai Culinary Arts Academy will be offering Le Cordon Bleu’s signature program The Grand Diplôme as well as Cuisine and Pâtisserie Diplomas and short courses. Le exteriorCordon Bleu’s globally recognized methodology includes world-class demonstrations and instruction led by our trained chef’s and lecturers that prepare students for a career in premium international restaurants, hotels and establishments. The training will be delivered by Le Cordon Bleu’s Technical Director, Chef Philippe Clergue and Executive Pastry chef Nicolas Serrano.
