Le Cordon Bleu cookery school is set to open a Restaurant in London in the summer

Originally planned for 2020, Cord by Le Cordon Bleu will open at 85 Fleet Street in June, comprising a 90-seat fine-dining restaurant, a Parisian-style café and a new space to host cookery courses and events.

The restaurant and café will welcome guests from Monday to Friday, with the former offering a daily
à la carte menu, a weekly set lunch and multiple tasting menus in the evening, with a focus on classical techniques and British ingredients.

The café will feature its own bakery, selling pâtisseries and viennoiseries alongside a range of light meals such as sandwiches and soups, to be taken away or eaten on site.

Short courses in worldwide cuisine, food and wine pairings, and pâtisserie will be delivered by teachers from The Cordon Bleu's London institute at 15 Bloomsbury Square.

Le Cordon Bleu CEO and president, André J Cointreau told The Evening Standard: “At Cord we aim to deliver savoir-faire and quality, bringing together unique techniques and the freshest, best-in-season ingredients across worldwide cuisines.

“Our guests will join us on a voyage to experience first-hand the exceptional level of skills delivered by our talented chefs at the same time receiving a warm and expert service level in a relaxed setting.”
