Celebrated chef and caterer Margot Henderson OBE is opening a pub with rooms in Batcombe, Somerset

Set to open in November 2022, The Three Horseshoes is a 17th century inn, restored to serve its new purpose as a pub with five rooms, featuring a walled garden terrace where summer guests will be invited to sit with a view on the fruit trees, flower beds and homegrown vegetable patch.

The food offering, described as "heartfelt, wholesome" and celebrating "the very best produce from local farmers" will feature Margot's take on classic British dishes such as devilled crab & focaccia; lemon sole & gribiche; plum and Somerset apple crumble; local cheeses with cob nuts, as well as items from the family-run smokery, Brown and Forest.

New Zealand born chef Margot Henderson began her career working at the iconic Eagle pub in Farringdon in the 1990s, and rose to prominence in the world of hospitality alongside her business partner, Melanie Arnold, with whom she ran The French House in Soho for seven years, together with Fergus Henderson - Margot's husband, known as the father of the nose-to-taill movement and chef owner of the St John restaurant, bakery and wine shop group.

Margot and Melanie founded their catering company together, now the acclaimed East Shoreditch restaurant, Rochelle Canteen, where they offer a seasonal produce-led menu supporting local farmers. In 2020, Margot and Fergus were each awarded an OBE for services to the culinary arts.
