More than £7,000 has been raised for Hospitality Action following the death of a young aspiring chef.
Talvin Singh Ghag from High Wycombe, passed away after a car crash in Oxford at around 10pm on August 3.
He worked as a chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
A 22-year-old man from south Oxfordshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink-driving, dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
In a statement, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons told The Oxford Mail it was 'heartbroken' to confirm that two of its employees were involved in the crash.
Paying tribute to Talvin, a spokesperson for Le Manoir said: "He was a much-loved team member and is deeply missed by everyone who worked with him.
"We are supporting all of those involved and our wider team through this difficult time."
Now, a fundraising tribute has been created in Talvin's memory.
The tribute also highlights the work of Hospitality Action, a charity
that provides vital support services for people in the industry.
A post on the memorial tribute read: “Talvin's passion was food and he achieved this by getting his dream job as a Chef at Le Manior aux Quat' Saisons. Hospitality Action is a charity that Talvin supported and was close to his heart.
“Hospitality Action offers a whole range of support services to help hospitality people get back on their feet again after a setback. Each year this charity helps thousands of people through challenging times and when life takes an unexpected turn.”
Executive head chef Luke Selby also shared a post on social media, it read: "Rest in peace, Talvin. Gone far too soon, but you’ll forever be remembered. It was a privilege to have you as part of our kitchen family, your warmth, energy, and talent left a mark on everyone around you. We’ll cook together again one day."
