Virgilio resizedVirgilio Martinez, head chef at Central restaurant in Peru, is to join forces with The Palomar in Soho for a collaborative tasting menu experience on 9th October at LIMA Floral (the sister restaurant to Michelin-starred LIMA from Robert Ortiz). The lunchtime event will bring together the creative flavours of two of London’s most innovative restaurants in a celebration of culinary diversity along with executive chef Yossi Elad from The Palomar; whose rich and experimental dishes are inspired by the culinary cultures of Southern Spain, North Africa and the Levant. Also on the pass will be Leo Carreira, a close friend of Virgilio and a regular on the London pop-up restaurant scene. Having worked as head chef at Mugaritz and alongside Nuno Mendes at Viajante, Leo will bring further expertise and complimentary Latin-inspired flavours to the hot-ticketed event. Sea bream ceviche - resizedDiners will be treated to a tasting menu to take them on a journey from Peru to the Middle East via the Iberian Peninsula. LIMA, The Palomar and Leo Carreira will each contribute two dishes that will capture the essence of their style of cuisine but that will combine to create a six-course menu of harmonious flavours. Virgilio Martinez said: “This lunch is a chance to re-inforce and energise the link between modern Peruvian gastronomy and London’s vibrant restaurant scene as epitomised by LIMA and The Palomar. But more than anything it will be a bit of fun and, hopefully, magic - sharing with our diners the conviviality of friendship with Leo and Yossi”. The six-course tasting menu will be priced at £60 per person - Book HERE
