Luke Selby has announced today that he will be stepping away from his head chef position at HIDE Above Restaurant at the end of May 2019.

Luke, who is currently taking part in Great British Menu 2019, was part of Ollie Dabbous's opening team for HIDE in April last year.

He said:  "It has been a fantastic journey and I couldn’t be more proud of the team for all that we have built and achieved in the Above Restaurant at Hide. I’m incredibly thankful to Ollie Dabbous and the owners Yevgeny and Tatiana for showing great faith in me from the outset."

Luke was head chef at the Michelin-starred Dabbous before it's closure and prior to that he worked as a sous chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons  and as a chef de partie at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. In 2017, Luke was crowned National Chef of the Year 2018 and he also won the Roux Scholarship 2017.

Luke and the team at HIDE were rewarded with a Michelin star in the 2018 guide, he said: "To lead the Above team to be part of achieving a Michelin star for the whole building within the first 5 months was an amazing journey. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support everyone around me has shown."

Luke is currently taking the time 'to weigh out all options' before he embarks on the 'next exciting chapter' in his career.
