MasterChef: The Professionals 2019 champion Stuart Deeley is the new development chef for peel's at Hampton Manor.

Joining head chef Darren Meacham, Stu will assist in the creation and preparation of new menus for the Michelin-starred restaurant in Solihull.

In a first instance, the hotel and restaurant will host 'Stu's Sleepover,' for which the chef has designed a special menu, which will include dishes from his victorious appearance on MasterChef: The Professionals 2019.

The chef took to Instagram to announce the news, clarifying that "I don't think that means I'll be home by 5pm.

"I'll be there with the team cooking dinner in Peel's, Hampton manor's Michelin star restaurant. I can't wait to see you all there."

The chef, who trained at Simpsons before taking on the head chef role at The Wilderness - where he worked when he took part in MasterChef: The Professionals, and won - had been set to open his own restaurant in Birmingham prior to the pandemic.

During lockdown, the chef helped create and prepare 'Antona at Home' meals from the Simpsons kitchen, and when we last heard from him had secured a site in Birmingham's Edgebaston to open a restaurant with his fiancé, Natasha Shorthouse.
