MasterChef: The Professionals 2013 winner Steven Edwards is set to launch his second restaurant at London's Bingham Riverhouse.

The chef, who was crowned winner of MasterChef: The Professionals series 6 aged 26, will take over the Richmond restaurant, which will be renamed after him, in March of this year.

Recent rennovation work saw the family-owned restaurant, formerly known as the Bingham, relaunched a year ago, with chef Andrew Cole - who joined in January 2015 - at the helm. Andrew left earlier this month and is now the head chef at Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel.

Steven Edwards said he was “really pleased" to be taking a next step in London with this collaboration.

He added: "I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved in Hove so far, and with so much more to come there, this feels like the right way to continue to grow our portfolio.”

Bingham Riverhouse’s manager Erick Kervaon adds: “We’re very excited about collaborating with Steven. Since our days together at South Lodge over ten years ago, we’ve always tried to find ways to work together and he’s taken over the kitchen at the Bingham as a guest chef a few times in the past. His dish innovation and eye-popping presentation is inspiring and we see a great fit with this and the next chapter of Bingham Riverhouse.”

The news follows on the success of Steven's flagship restaurant in Hove, Etch. The 12 table-tasting menu venue has been distinguished with a Michelin Plate three years running, a spot in the Good Food Guide and 3 AA Rosettes.
