Graham Hornigold joins Toque d’Or panel

Graham Hornigold, Executive Pastry Chef for Hakkasan group, will join a panel of experts from across the industry at this year’s Toque d'Or regional heats.  toque1The former Toque d'Or student will lead a culinary dessert masterclass, which the students will be tasked with delivering and serving to guests as part of a special three course meal. Graham said: “At a time when hospitality talent is at a premium, competitions like Toque d’Or have never been more important to ensuring the future of our industry.  For me, being part of Toque was an incredible experience, and one that opened doors in my career. Regardless of who leaves as winners, the students taking part in this year’s competition can walk away knowing they have been a part of something great.” ToqueManaging Director at Nestlé Professional, George Vezza, added: “Toque d’Or has always been about young people, giving them the opportunity to taste success and motivating them towards a successful career in the Hospitality Industry. With the industry experiencing a skills shortage, the need to inspire talent is more vital than ever and with Graham on board, the competition is set to be one of the best. We are delighted to have him as part of the Toque d’Or team.” Going for 28 years, the Toque d’Or is one of the longest competitions in the industry.This year the competition has a record 156 student teams entering from 68 catering colleges from across the country. The top 36 teams to make it through the paper round will face the Regional Heats in February and fight for a place in the Grand Finals in March.
